Cuisine Indian
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

Bombay Potatoes

  • 700 g Pelled Potatoes
  • Salt
  • 1 tbs Tumeric Powder
  • 4 tbsp Sunflower Oil
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • 8 Dry Curry Leaves
  • 1 medium Brown Onion
  • 1 tbsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp Fennel Seeds

Lamb Steak

  • 4 Lamb Steak
  • Rosemary
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

Bombay Potatoes

  • Chop the potatoes in small pieces (about 2 cm square), so they can cook evenly later on.
  • Chop the onion and the chilli. Start to fry them with the sunflower oil (do not use extra virgin olive oil , as the smoke point is much lower!) and you need really need to fry that onion and chilli!
  • Add all the spices and the leaves and fry them for few minutes, so your mix starts to be fragrant.
  • Add the potatoes and mix for few minutes. Add some water (and add whenever is needed), so the potatoes are not going to stick to the pot and cook them until they are done – around 15minutes.

Lamb Steak

Add to the steakes the spices.

    • Grill the steaks for few minutes for each side. It should not be overcooked, as lamb is really good when is medium rare (but this is my taste, so you can decide how much to cook yours).
    • Add some salt on top – never use the salt before cooking, as it is going to drain all the moisture from the meat! Enjoy!
