Gochujang Chung Jung One Sunchang Hot Pepper Paste Gold Review

One of the most trendy ingredients of this year, the Gochujang Chung Jung One Sunchang Hot Pepper Paste Gold is now in my fridge and I have already tried it. Here an overview of what I think about it and how to use it.

Firstly, for who has not heard already of this sauce, it is coming from Korea and taste like a really umami pepper, quite hot! There is also fermented brown rice in the mix, but it is hard to identify!

I bought the brand Chung Jung as it was easily to buy from Amazon, and it is one of the recommended while going through reviews and video in internet.

I paid 5 £ for it but for this sauce, a little goes a long way.

The sauce it is made by chili powder, brown rice, fermented doybean and barleymalt powder and salt. There is a fermentation process that take place, where the rice it is transformed and make the distinctive sweet taste. It is quite a traditional sauce, that was made in families backyards for centuries. Watch out for the allergens tough, soy is one of them.

There are many recipes to be used with it, from marinating the meats such as chicken to heat it up a little, to mix it with some yogurt or mayonnaise to make it as an amazing sauce for chips or vegetable such as grilled aubergines for example or running eggs!

For a even more umami taste, add a little bit of soy sauce to the mix, amazing! Let me know how you like and please share any recipes 😀 thankyou!
